Radio Universidade de Coimbra is the oldest running university radio station in Portugal, a freeform independent alternative radio station which is both a radio-school and a local broadcaster in central Portugal:
RUC – 107.9 FM – http://www.ruc.pt
All radio programs are author’s programs. This means that all compulsory playlists are banned by principle. The person hosting a radio program is
entirely free to choose what music to play. As a result, there’s a multiple and eccletic offer of radio contents – programs (“shows”) about pop, rock, electronic, dance, jazz, classical music, soundtracks, covers, japanese music, chiptunes, hip hop, worldmusic, blues, rockabilly, chanson française, gothic, punk, noise, experimental improvisations performed live, metal, medieval, exotica, …

«Martini da Arcada» is the name of this year’s daily pop show. Most programs have blogs (list here : http://www.ruc.pt/contactos.php), and Fernando Pessoa, the portuguese poet, “hosts” Martini da Arcada’s blog:
