Boy Least Likely To & The Raconteurs - It's just fine

boyleastlikelyto.gif
Boy Least Likely To weave the childish fear of monsters into the very adult uncertainties of the perpetual movement that is life. Explicitly the settling down part. The infantile and addictively catchy methods and subjects defining Boy Least Likely To’s excellent “The Best Party Ever” will make you smile and smile and smile.

Boy Least Likely To – Monsters

People I used to love
are turning into monsters
getting married having babies
telling me how great their life is

If Louis Perlman works with sugarcane at his Orlando bubblegum shit-Pop factory, then Boy Least Likely To is a British summation of blissful indie pop and potent coca leaves.

The Raconteurs, seemingly more mature and joined by the often indignant Jack White crunchily recommend finding a wife. Straightforwardness and simplicity, exactly what you’d expect from a White fronted band. Unlike the sparse White Stripes sound, the fuller sound we always sort of wished for is here.

The Raconteurs – Steady, As She Goes

Find yourself a girl and settle down
Live a simple life in a quiet town

Our hearts' on fire but neither track resembles tired Rock n’ Roll clichés. Settling down? Scary monsters? Just exceptionally unpretentious advice from two Rock n’ Roll bands that will hook you in.

Sometimes we rock and roll, Sometimes we stay at home and it’s just fine " (-wp).

+Boy Least Likely To kick off their first US tour tonight! Most dates consist of support duties for James Blunt, but Allston, MA gets the honor of a headlining show. The brave trailblazers out there will go to the James Blunt gigs anyway. You’re all fucking Beautiful.

Tour dates here and after the jump.

"The Best Party Ever" is tough to get ahold of in the US due to it's Import status but you can blow $30 and buy from Amazon. MS readers are more savvy though right? Of course you know to buy from Insound and use the extra cash towards James Blunt tickets...

Check back for more on Boy Least Likely To and The Raconteurs in the coming months at MS.com.
