Gnarls Barkley - Best. Promo Photos. Ever.
Gnarls Barkley is DJ Danger Mouse and CeeLo. Their first single, "Crazy" invokes Moby's PLAY era soul/gospel/ rock infusions. The single is currently perched at the top of the UK singles chart 
backed by strong download figures. A historic, though not totally surprising feat.
In this brave new world the kiddies use the Internet!
"Crazy" is streaming on the Gnarls Barkley site and their myspace.

Danger Mouse - the man behind "The Grey Album," the mashup masterpiece of the Beatles' "White Album" and Jay Z's "Black Album" , knob turner for Gorillaz' "Demon Days", and Dangerdoom's "The Mouse and the Mask."
Cee-Lo, the psychedelic George Clinton-descendent, who broke Goodie Mob fans' hearts, refused to stay a "Closet Freak," and is approaching Dr. Octagon-like alternative appellation counts. He also produced the Pussycat Dolls dreadful hit "Don't Cha." A song that makes me throw up in my mouth a little, but dude gotta get paid right? It's just the way it is.
As for the Gnarls Barkley fellow, the website is cryptic with tongue firmly planted in cheek:
Danger Mouse: "He’s not Damon Albarn – I can blow that myth out of the water for you. A lot of people think he lives in South Carolina. Personally, I think you’d be more likely to find him in Europe."Cee-Lo: "I am a humble trumpet, and the wind of God blows through me. You might consider Gnarls the spit valve on the trumpet, were you inclined to consider him at all.” As he walked away, Cee-Lo could be heard to mutter, “You want to know who he is? He’s the dude who owes me thirty-five dollars, that’s who he is.”
The full length "St Elsewhere" drops on May 9th.
