Retrohump - Glam Rock

Androgynous shiny rock and rollers, glitter, tacky everything, bombastic beats and power chords. A phenomenon that took its roots from disco ball sexuality and cabaret showmanship, would later morph into hair metal cock rock in the '80s and elevate the awful, but acknowledged influential, KISS into superstardom.

Today the legacy is alive in cheeky British novelty act The Darkness, and tilting heavily on the Elton John side of the gay scale, The Scissor Sisters.

I present you a Retrohump retrospective on Glam Rock.

David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust

The ultimate glam rocker performing the ultimate glam opera as the ultimate glam persona.

Mott The Hoople - All The Young Dudes

Bowie written and produced, with a nod to T Rex...

T Rex - Cadillac

I became a fan of Marc Bolen a few years ago. High energy driving rock and roll is the formula. Little tinkering required.

The Sweet - Wig Wam Bam

Outrageousness is the name of the game. The crowd is in full freak out mode as The Sweet rock out in Village People inspired gear onstage. Its so wild the drummer is in the front!!
