Sunset Rubdown - "Us Ones in Between" - Live in Chicago
Has there been a more hauntingly beautiful song released this year? I'll leave it as a rhetorical question so as to not fall into an absolutist trap. Though I'm yet to witness this version of a Spencer Krug band in a live setting, the moment the drums kick in on the "pious men" cue gives me a warm feeling all over (not this type of feeling though). I'm unapologetically rediscovering this album as of this week. Its quite good. And by good I mean great.

I agree with you on pretty much every account. This is on the short list of my favorite songs of the year, and it serves as a rallying point for my students.
