Mass theft of mobile phones at Bloc Party show

Not sure how this is even possible:
Bloc Party had a run-in with a mobile phone thief at their show at the Hexagon in Reading last night (February 5). The police were called after a stream of fans reported to the venue's security that their mobile phones had gone missing. A man was apprehended, wearing a wig, who was in possession of over 30 mobile phones. After the concert the fans were kept back by the police and returned their stolen phones. They were then invited backstage by the band. (NME)
In related British crime news, Pete Doherty has been charged with several driving offenses stemming from a November arrest.
Here is a fun game to play. What is more inexplicable, the Bloc Party story, or Doherty's home not yet being of the type that is decorated with metal bars.?

Have you heard the new Bloc Party? What a suck fest. People who bought that album might have too much disposable income anyway...
