You may have heard Daft Punk was pretty good at Coachella...

Introducing Daft Punk Fridays!

The concept is simple. Let me explain. Including today, there are twelve Fridays until Coachella. When west Coast hipsters shack up in the desert oasis normally reserved by retirees and golf enthusiasts (not one bit mutually exclusive). Twelve weeks of hype from yours truly and twelve weeks of contrarian gripes regarding heat, crowds, and other quibbles from people who don't like fun.

Anybody who has read this site with any degree of regularity knows how I feel about Daft Punk's Coachella 2006 set. Maybe I didn't receive the Godly visions that some of my brethren did, but it was definitely sick. It's time to finally get a listen. We'll celebrate the end of each of these twelve weeks by providing a new slice of the Daft Punk pie. Like a serial novel without the novel. Just serial. A serial MP3 post over three months to get this entire show. If you don't make the trip to California just fill the playlist with the songs, take some ecstasy* and invite some party girls and boys for a late night dance session at the crib-o.

Today kicks off this temporary feature with a one-two punch of robot-techno (also because the show was split into thirteen tracks and I didn't start last week..). The quality of the recording is excellent, enjoy.

*MS.com does not condone drug use. We don't even know what "ecstasy" is. A pigtailed redhead in 7" platform boots told us to say this. She went by the name "Unicorn Orchid." For reals.
