Two votes for Wu in one day, who'd a thunk it? For some reason, despite the attempts at overt emotioinal manipulation (cough, "Today") this one doesn't have too much of an affect on me. I mean, I like it, sure, but it's just never been a real favorite. Corgan is an unsufferable ass too, as his lame overreaction to Malkmus dissing him showed. ODB wouldn't have been punked like that.

This is a tough one because I genuinely love both records... I get that Wu Tang is a bellwether for Hip-Hop and it probably deserves to advance, but I'm a rock boy at heart. One vote for Billy and his insufferable self with a secret urge for Wu to win.
I believe in politics they call this pulling a Hillary.

I think that overtime was the wake-up call needed for the Wu. I'm still riding the swarm, but I disagree with Jeff, ODB would have went batshit crazy and probably dedicated at least two tracks on his album to Concrete. But at least it would have been funny and not prissy.

The Wu-Tang cannot be beat by Billy Corgan's motley crew. I still listen 36 Chambers on occasion and think it has a timeless quality that justifies its #2 seed. I hope they advance . . .

Let us not hold the crap that Billy inflicted on us past this album. Wu-Tang may be forever, but this album is pretty timeless. At times abrasive and others sweet, I think it wins the head-to-head matchup over WTC. I might rank WTC as a better album in some poll (without contemplating Siamese Dream as an opponent), but that's what we have to do here.

The Pumpkins don't even belong on the same court as the WTC. 36 Chambers should snap out of it and go on a spree all the way to the championship, like the Gators are about to, after almost blowing it early.
Seriously, there is not one weak moment on 36 Chambers, and you just can't overstate its impact -- it invented hip hop conventions that later generations can't even imagine rap without.
