Affirmation, yes

This song and album is a bit old, but I don't think we've covered it here. A unannounced honorable mention on my 2006 Best of List, Girl Talk's Night Ripper is a seamless melding of multiple musical genres - the quintessential mashup.
Beyond being a truly good listen, I think, (perhaps unintentionally) it broaches a larger issue - how all music is more or less similar. Listening how effortlessly (though Gregg Gillis "Girl Talk" might scoff at my referring to his work as effortless) songs transition into each other, it's hard not to see every genre (save for maybe drone rock) as pop music.
The track I keep playing over and over again is: "Bounce That." Here's the sample list, from Wikipedia.
12. "Bounce That" – 3:23
* 0:00 The Emotions - "Best Of My Love"
* 0:07 Purple Ribbon All-Stars - "Kryptonite (I'm on It)"
* 0:30 Benny Benassi - "Satisfaction"
* 0:37 LCD Soundsystem - "Daft Punk Is Playing at My House"
* 1:06 The Breeders - "Cannonball"
* 1:14 Stevie Wonder - "My Cherie Amour"
* 1:20 Steve Winwood - "Valerie"
* 1:20 DJ Funk - "Booty Bounce"
* 1:22 Pointer Sisters - "Jump (for My Love)"
* 1:53 Britney Spears - "I'm a Slave 4 U"
* 1:56 Wreckx-N-Effect - "Rump Shaker"
* 2:08 Elastica - "Connection" (itself a sample of Wire's "Three Girl Rhumba")
* 2:13 Ciara ft. Ludacris - "Oh"

Girl Talk is incredible - if you havent had the chance to see him live, make it a priority. He's incredible, such great energy.

I called Night Ripper my favorite album of 2006, (for whatever that's worth). My favorite of the tracks is "Smash Your Head", with its B.I.G. / Elton John mix.

Honestly, the whole project kind of bores me. Once you get past the spot the sample game, the music itself doesn't affect me, because it just seems like an unraveling nothing. Fun for party, but not very deep, except for over thought, squishy "All music should party together" pop-utopianism.

Frankly I would have been surprised if this didn't bore you, Jeff. Then something would have been wrong with the worlds.
