Tonight: the Decline of Lower East Side Civilization

The mental image conjured by the thorough ramblings of our esteemed columnist David Klein is probably something like the above picture. A stately figure strolling through a vinyl vault of McDuck proportions, having to climb a ladder to get to the A Certain Ratio albums. Well, this is not entirely accurate. Tonight is the night for you, the curious party, to set the record straight and get straightened out by some records, as D. Klein steps into the slightly altered persona of DJ Decline at our favorite watering hole, Lotus Lounge (the corners of Clinton and Stanton streets).
From 10-ish on, D. Klein/Decline will be culling hits from his mammoth collection of 70's and 80's vinyl. While the playlist is a closely guarded secret, expect rarities, obscure covers and of course number songs galore. There are sure to be more than a handful of "What the fuck is this, and where can I find it?" moments, so the sooner you get there the better.
A sampling:
the Blade - "We Won't Sleep Tonight"
...and for those who live far away or just want their mystique slightly spoiled, here's a semi revealing picture of the man himself.

He's a bit older than us and a-ha was huge at a formative time, so cut him some slack...
