MS Pick - Bishop Allen
Bishop Allen's new full length, "The Broken String" is set for release next week. Most of the songs are re-recorded versions of tunes from the heavily buzzed 12 EPs released in 2006. I'll admit that I mostly ignored the hype surrounding the monthly EP releases from the band, fickleness hatched out of saturation and no other good reason really. Lame in of itself I suppose, but I can't help these things.
Now that my half-hearted apology for the late jump on the bandwagon is out of the way I can confidently say Bishop Allen's pop sentiments are pretty irresistible. None more irresistible than this new song. None more irresistible than the chorus falsetto of Justin Rice singing, "Cause if its ever gonna get any better." If he's asking then this is my answer..."I'm not sure, but probably not. Maybe if the midpoint part of the song had hand claps, because it sure sounds like its begging for them don't it?"
Bishop Allen is rounding the US on their summer tour that kicks off in New York City this Friday. Full dates after the jump.
