Hey ________, It's Your Birthday, Today!
This is what kind of great guy I am, it's my birthday and I'm giving you, the loyal MS reader, a gift. A gift of a horribly memorable, and quite possibly profoundly disturbing, personalized birthday song that's been laser engraved into my cerebellum since I was very small. It was tracked down by my sister and brother in law, on the anniversary of my arrival to existence. Seeing as it is by the wildly popular (if not wildly versatile) "Captain Zoom" perhaps you know of what I speak. Only my fellow Jeffs can really enjoy this particular version whole heartedly though. So Jeffs of the world, you're welcome/I'm sorry.

Thank you for posting this. Zoom is a tradition in our family too. One of our kids had the record and one had the cassette tape.
It's my son, Jeff's, birthday today. He lives in California and I was going to send him the sample from the Zoom site when I saw your post. What a coincidence that you posted it Friday.

MY MOM SENT ME THIS 45 RECORD DURING MY FRESHMAN YEAR AT HAMILTON COLLEGE IN 1977. IN THE 30 YEARS SINCE THEN, IT HAS GAINED CULT-STATUS AMONG ONE FRIEND (BILL SMITH, CURRRENTLY THE GM OF THE MINNESOTA TWINS)WHO HAS SUNG IT TO ME VERBATIM EVERY YEAR SINCE. TALK ABOUT BEING INDELIBLY ETCHED!

Wow, that is rather disturbing. I particularly enjoyed the fact that each song is exactly the same. By the way, if you haven't already, listen to the audio sample of the happy anniversary song... it's quite amusing how he goes, "it'syouranniversary" at high speed... ^-^

Could you do the one that says "Tommy" instead of Jeff. My son Tom had this 45 when he was 2 years old, it was lost when a tornado totalled our home in 1990. He is 32 now and it would be such a hoot to play this for him. THanks so much. Do you know where or how I could get the recording?
