Ticketmaster is fucking you "Convenient"
[Coachella ticket is $269 before fees. ]
[Handsome Furs ticket is $12 before fees.]
I know this has been said a million times before, but just because of that doesn't mean it is acceptable. Why the fuck does their "convenience charge" change on the price of the ticket? Extortion! We need more Pearl Jams testifying in Congress.

This truly is absurd, albeit not really news.
I think the best thing to do, from a consumer standpoint, is to support those bands, such as PJ, that circumvent Ticketmaster.

Unfortunately for bigger bands it's impossible. Even Pearl Jam had to give in in order to play mainstream venues.
Though these days there are a lot more options -- with fan club ticketing, Music Today, and of course good ol' fashion box office purchasing.
Basically the times when you get screwed over are for really hot shows that will sell out immediately, and shows not in your city of residence where you do not want to risk showing up the day of the show to buy a tix.
Its really a racket if you think about it. We've just all accepted it as the farce that it is and take it. Fatigue doesn't make it ok though.

tell me about it, I bought a pair of single day passes to All Points West I even thought those were a bit much. No way was I going to pay for all 3 days to finish the weekend off with Jack Johnson
