Texas: June Concert Listings
Alright, summer! Time to throw on some shorts and a tank top and head out to the beach/county fair/carnival/outdoor music festival of your liking. Unless you live in Texas. While most of the country will spend the next three months enjoying a variety of extensively-billed, three-day-weekend music orgies, this is the time of year when the Lone Star State settles in for a cigarette.
It's been in the high 90's for about a month and a half now (in the RGV, at least); the crowded beach is already common. Chances are, the dirty, smelly, expensive traveling carnival coming to your local fair grounds is the same one that clogged up frontage road with tin-pan "music" and bright lights a-flashin' in my town last winter. The carnie that tried to grift me then is the same one trying to grift you now. Go to where the tolerable weather is, I guess.
The outdoor concert going season may start and end in Texas, but for now, most things are getting smaller and heading indoors.
