Texas: July Concert Listings
The dog days have reached full stretch in Texas. For most of the state, it’s mostly retread summer concert fare and quasi-ironic reunion tours, with a spattering of pertinent shows thrown in to break up the monotony. As usual, Austin perseveres with another consistent-if-not-spectacular roll call of performances, especially on the 25, which leaves the avid music fan to choose between Wolf Parade, Killer Mike, Aesop Rock, Health and a free show at the record store.
My advice to you then, is this: skip the concert scene entirely this month. Instead, head down to Historic Gruene, (about midway between San Antonio and Austin), grab a case and an inner tube, and spend the day wallowing in the Guadalupe River. Texas: where drinking while swimming isn’t just legal, it’s encouraged!
