Denver: UMS this weekend!

The 8th annual Denver Post sponsored Underground Music Showcase kicks off tonight in the South Broadway section of downtown Denver and continues into all day tomorrow. If it seems like every single Colorado band worth their salt is playing, it's because they are. This year UMS expands to a two day event for the first time, three days if you count the UMS affiliated Sunday afternoon bender options.
Last year was my first time at this event and it was real treat being able to walk around and casually pop in and out of venues hosting the full spectrum of local bands. Shops reconfigured for live music made for an excellent way to see Denver's local talent as well as exploring the funky S. Broadway merchants. Everything from skate shops to clothing boutiques become backdrops for Colorado's emerging and established bands. Good times. Definitely consider making it. The UMS crew put together an excellent lineup for a great value (only $20 for the weekend - buy tickets)! See you there?
