![]()
[Rage @ Pinkpop 2008]
Rage Against the Machine announced today they will perform at the Denver Coliseum on August 27th while the Democratic National Convention takes place in Denver. Rage will be joined by Flobots, the Coup, State Radio, and Wayne Kramer as part of the "Tent State Music Festival to End the War". Tickets will be free and distributed via a lottery at Tent State University at Cuernavaca Park starting Sunday August 24th. You must register for the lottery in person and have a photo ID proving you are who you claim. Winners will know their fate by Tuesday the 26th. As for the fate of the cause(s) being furthered, Merry Swankster advises not holding one's breath.
Tent State will serve as the music venue for the first radical music festival, the Tent State Music Festival, hosting artists such as Jello Biafra, The Coup, and some very special guests. It will host an unending list of activities and installations, such as the WARGAMES Anti-War Fashion show which aims to highlight the consequences of war on women, and Backbone Campaign's "Funeral for the Past" installation. Most importantly, Tent State will serve as basecamp for activists and organizations to strategize, stage, and execute actions from throughout the week. It will also house first aid tents by the Colorado Street Medics, drop off points for social media, and other tools. Check out the Schedule of Actions link.* [Tent State]
*In an instance of unending irony, the 'Actions link' was not working at the time of this post. Sigh.
