Tuesday Video Nook

I don't know if the rest of you agree, but without a easy passive delivery system to feed me music videos, I sometimes forget about them entirely for weeks on end. Back in the salad days of music video, I could count on Matt Pinfield and his behind the scenes team of stubble monkeys to feed me stuff I'd like to see. I know the same function is performed daily by Pitchfork.tv, and any number of sites, but the passivity was key. With a banquet of choices I'm too likely to say, naw, or, maybe later and then let them wither in neglect. Perhaps you will trust me enough to spend a few minutes with these pre-digested choices of mine.

Ladyhawke - "My Delirium"

Proof that it's nearly impossible to wrangle the entirety of a year in music down to one definitive list continues to hit me in the face daily, as I attempt to do just that. I just yesterday watched this video for the 2008 track from a lady named Ladyhawke, who is apparently not the gaggle of hairy Canadians who go by that same name, only minus the "e". She can have the name, as far as I'm concerned, even if her record isn't as similarly sleek and riff-stuffed. It's too late now for me to find out, either way. Her delirium seems to be heavily influenced by 80s MTV. I suppose a lot of folks' is.

the Pains of Being Pure at Heart - "Everything With You"

Distinguished Neon Lights stars the Pains of Being Pure at Heart turn in the first video from next year's impending full-length. It's quite close to a Belle and Sebastian video, as you might expect. But cute girls being cute is a perennial favorite around here. Peggy, their keyboardist is one, but the identity of the auxiliary fox is unbeknownst to me.

Max Tundra - "Will Get Fooled Again"

Attempts to wrap my head around Max Tundra's Parallax Error Beheads You are in no way aided by this video. Quite the Contrary.

Fan Death - "Veronica's Veil"

The neuveaux disco divas of Fan Death look to have capitalized on a swell vacation spot in making their video for "Veronica's Veil." A swimming pool doubles as a visual representation of decadent strings for which to soak in. The veil is symbolic of a veil, as best I can tell.
